Modern Slavery And Human Trafficking Policy

This policy sets out Price Building Services’ actions to eliminate any potential modern slavery risks related to its business. We are dedicated to putting in place steps aimed at ensuring there is no slavery or human trafficking in Price Building Services or our supply chains. Price Building Services is an organisation that provides mechanical and electrical installation services across London. As active members of the construction sector we recognise that we are responsible for a no tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking. We will prevent slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and ensure that supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.

Assessment Process 

• • undertake a slavery and human trafficking risk assessment to enable us to apply a risk based and proportionate approach to dealing with slavery and human trafficking issues;
  • review the contracts we have with our supply chain and amend these to require compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 where appropriate;
  • enhance our audit process to include slavery and trafficking issues, for our supply chain whom we have entered into a Price Building Services trading agreement;
  • communicate and encourage any individual to confidentially raise a potential issue;
  • implement targeted training for those involved in procurement and/or with responsibility for supply chain management.
  • develop a process for targeted, high-risk projects in circumstances where we are procuring directly.

Due Diligence 

We undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly review our existing subcontractors/suppliers. Our due diligence and reviews include:

• • evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new subcontractor/supplier;
  • reviewing on a regular basis all aspects of the supply chain based on the supply chain mapping;
  • taking steps to improve substandard suppliers’ practices, including providing advice to suppliers and requiring them to implement action plans;
  • participating in collaborative initiatives focused on human rights in general, and slavery and human trafficking in particular;
  • directing subcontractors to accredited, free training;
  • invoking sanctions against subcontractors/suppliers that fail to improve their performance in line with an action plan or seriously violate our supplier code of conduct, including the termination of the business relationship.

Responsibility for the Policy
The scope of this policy applies to employees at all levels, directors, management, supervision, employees, temporary workers, trainees/apprentices, consultants and all members of our supply chain.

• • The Price Building Services Board of Directors has overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy complies with all legal and ethical obligations as well as ensuring that all employees and our supply chain comply with it.
  • The Human Resources department has primary and day to day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, dealing with any queries about it and periodic auditing of relevant internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in countering modern slavery. They will seek to encourage comments, suggestions and queries from employees on the policy, its implementation and content.
  • Management at all levels are responsible for ensuring those who report to them understand and comply with this policy by way of adequate and regular training on it and the issue of modern slavery in supply chains. They will seek to encourage supply chain members in becoming familiar with this policy and assist with its implementation.
  • All employees and supply chain members are responsible for reporting any signs of modern slavery in relation to Price Building Services’ operations.

Awareness Modern Slavery and our Policy 
Price Building Services raises awareness of this policy in its inductions for all employees and contractors. Suppliers and business partners will be made aware of our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery at the outset of our business relationship with them and reinforced appropriately thereafter. 

When requested, employees and supply chain members will be required complete training on modern slavery and human trafficking issued by Price Building Services.

Breaches of the Policy
We encourage all our workers, clients and other supply chain members to report any concerns related to the direct activities, or the supply chains of, our organisation. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.

All reports will be processed in line with our Whistleblowing Policy; this procedure is designed to make it easy for workers to make disclosures, without fear of repercussion. Employees, clients or others who have concerns can contact HR to make a confidential disclosure.

Employees or supply chain members who are found to be in breach of this policy will be subject to the procedure outlined in our Disciplinary Policy.

This policy is reviewed annually and may be amended by the company periodically.
